Tara Lynn  Baisden comes from a long line of quilters. Growing up in a tiny town in Indiana, she often visited family members who quilted and sewed. As an adult, she turned her love of sewing into a cottage industry by making dolls and other needful things from her home and then selling them at craft fairs. She also lived in Joliet, Illlinois where she raised two children and continued designing while being a work at home, stay at home Mom.  Eventually, she moved to Kermit, West Virginia, where she currently resides with her four dogs in a log cabin on a mountain top of shear gorgeousness and inspiration.  You can find her quilting and designing in her humble surroundings, sitting on the front porch stitching away, out tending the gardens and canning her goodies and hiking the gorgeous hills of Wild Wonderful West Virginia!

Tara's passion for quilting was sparked to the next level in 1999, when a friend invited her to attend an International Quilt show.  Since then, quilting and crafting have opened many doors of opportunity. She designs her own patterns, re-creates a few antique and vintage quilts in her collection, many of which are sold in quilt shops throughout the world.

Tara's designs have also been published in American Patchwork & Quilting magazine and also Quilts and More magazine. She also has written a book on rug hooking, self published two quilting books, has been included in a quilting calendar and also blessed enough to have three quilting books published by Kansas City Star Quilts.

If you were to peek into Tara's world for a day, you would find her buried in a pile of fabrics and antique quilts - dreaming up her next designs and working on her latest goals in the quilting industry. Her log cabin home is her quilting heaven on earth and brings her peace, a less stressful life and inspiration on a daily basis.  Along with quilting she enjoys hiking the hills with her four dogs, Dalilah, Duke, Daisy and Rocket.  Wandering the hills brings her much joy and inspiration.  Camera and drawing pad in hand - she favors the woods and its solitude.  She lets her mind wander and enjoys the beauty and scenery that surrounds her daily life. Tara also loves gardening and canning her bounty that she grows yearly on her property.  She also loves flower gardening.

When she's not blogging, FaceBooking, Instagramming or designing and playing around with a pile of fabric, she also enjoys creating quilts inspired by the past, hand piecing, hand quilting, reading, cooking, visiting with family members, riding her four wheeler around the mountains and trails of West Virginia and enjoying that morning cup of coffee on the front porch watching the sun rise. She is also the proud Mom of two wonderful kids who are now grown and embarking on their own adventures in this wonderful thing we call life.
